Your intake answers
Nine questions, asked once, before you reach the app. None of them can be skipped, and you can stop part-way and pick up where you left off.
They are short because they are not a medical history. They are the smallest set of things Densy needs in order to match you to a routine and to other members rather than guessing.
What each answer shapes
| The question | What it shapes |
|---|---|
| What is your biological sex? | Which hair-loss scale your stage is reported on |
| Which pattern best describes what you see? | Your routine · who you are matched with · your situation |
| How old are you? | Your routine · who you are matched with |
| Which area should we read first? | Your routine · your situation |
| Is anything affecting your scalp right now? | Your situation |
| How are your stress and sleep at the moment? | Your routine |
| What is your natural hair texture? | Recorded on your profile |
| Can you slide your scalp over your skull? | Recorded on your profile |
| What do you want from Densy? | Recorded on your profile |
Three answers count twice
Your pattern, the area you chose, and anything currently affecting your scalp combine into one summary of your situation. That summary is then used again — as part of which routine you are matched to, as part of who you are matched with, and to decide which lifetime membership offer you are shown.
So those three answers each do two jobs: they count on their own, and they count again through the summary they build.
This is why the questions come before the payment screen rather than after it. Your answers decide which offer you see, so there is nothing to show you until they are in.
Why sex is asked
There are two hair-loss scales in common use and they are not interchangeable — one describes a receding, thinning-on-top progression, the other describes diffuse thinning. Your answer selects which one your stage is reported on.
Without it Densy would have to pick a scale, and a stage reported on the wrong scale is worse than no stage at all: it looks like a reading.
The three that are only recorded
Your hair texture, your scalp mobility and what you want from Densy are stored on your profile and are not part of the routine match or the member match.
They are asked because they are cheap to ask once and expensive to ask later — the Hair Coach and anyone helping you can see them, and a texture answer changes how a routine step should be carried out even where it does not change which routine you get.
If you answered something wrong
There is currently no screen for changing these answers. Once all nine are in, the questionnaire is closed and the app opens instead.
If an answer is wrong in a way that matters — the wrong sex, the wrong pattern — contact support rather than working around it. Those two shape what you are shown most, and the difference is not cosmetic.
Common questions
Can I change my mind about Explorer or Pioneer? That answer does not lock you into a membership. What you pay for is chosen on the membership screen, separately. See Membership.
Why does Densy ask about stress and sleep? It is one of the things your routine is matched on. It is not a diagnosis and nothing about it is shared.
I stopped half-way. Have I lost my answers? No. Reopening the questions resumes where you stopped.
