Privacy and your data
Densy holds close-up photographs of your scalp, which is about as personal as product data gets. This page explains what happens to them in plain language.
The Privacy Policy is the authority, not this page. It is in the app, and it covers the legal detail — what is collected, on what basis, who processes it, how long it is kept, and where it goes. This page is the plain-English orientation and deliberately does not restate the legal text.
What Densy stores about you

Your photographs are not deleted after being read. Keeping them is the point: every later comparison is made against earlier captures, so a scan history that threw away its images could not show you change.
Who can see your photographs
- You, in your scan history.
- The Densy team, where they need to — support and operations staff can see member records, including scans.
- The AI models that produce your readings, and the coach when you ask it about something visible.
Your photographs are not shown to other members. That includes your Twins matches.
What Twins shows about you
This is the question worth being precise about, because Twins is the only place another member sees anything of yours at all.
Matching is anonymous in both directions. A match sees no name, no contact and no photographs. There is no messaging, and they cannot see that they were matched with you specifically.
What is compared is your situation and your readings — the shape of your data, not your identity. See Twins.
The Hair Coach and your data
The coach answers from your own records, which means it reads them: your scans and their readings, your intake answers, today’s routine and how consistently you have been doing it. When you ask about something visible, it can look at the actual photograph for that area.
Deleting a coach session removes the conversation. It does not remove the scans, readings or routine the conversation was about — those are your record, not the chat’s.
Your rights
The Privacy Policy sets out the full list, including access, correction, erasure, portability, restriction, and withdrawing consent.
Two practical notes about exercising them:
- There is no self-serve account deletion in the app. Erasure is a request, not a button — contact Densy and it is handled under the policy.
- You can export an individual scan image from your scan history, which is the quick route when you want one capture rather than everything.
Two smaller things
Notification emails carry an unsubscribe link that works without signing in. It stops that kind of email; it does not close your account or empty your inbox in the app. See Notifications.
Your time zone is detected rather than asked for. It is used to time reminders — see Settings.
The public Norwood checker is separate
The Norwood stage checker can be used without an account, and what happens to those two photographs is covered on its own pages rather than here. If you used it before joining, that was a different flow with a different retention answer.
If something looks wrong
If you believe Densy holds something it should not, or something about you is inaccurate, contact support rather than working around it in the app. Corrections to your intake answers in particular cannot be made from any screen — see Your intake answers.
