Twins

Members like you shows people whose situation resembles yours, so you can see what a comparable scalp actually did over time rather than reading averages.

Everyone is anonymous, in both directions

You are seeing this person anonymously. They cannot see you, and there is no way for either of you to send a message. There is no profile, no name and no contact — this is a comparison, not a social feature.

The bands are not percentages

Matches are grouped into three broad bands:

Band
A little like youThe loosest match
Quite like you
A lot like youThe closest

There is deliberately no percentage. A single number would imply a precision that does not exist, and it invites reading “50” as “half like me” when it means nothing of the kind.

On the match map each ring is one of those bands. Where someone sits around a ring has no meaning — that is layout, not data.

Why you were matched

Where Densy can name a shared factor, it does:

  • Same stage of life
  • Same pattern of hair loss
  • Scalp in a similar state
  • Similar amount of hair

Sometimes you will see no specific shared factor is shown. That is not a bug and not an empty match. Matching also weighs a broader read of your situation that is not one nameable thing, so the match is real even where the reason cannot be summed up in four words.

Profile matches and scan-informed matches

Two kinds appear, and you can filter between All and With scan history:

KindBased on
Profile matchYour intake answers, on both sides
Scan-informed matchThose, plus how much hair you each have and the state your scalps are in

Your intake answers are enough to start matching, which is why you have matches before your first scan. Scans sharpen them.

What you can see about a match

  • Their scalp, week by week — the scans they have taken, as a journey you can drag through
  • What their scans showed — one line per scan, from the same reader that looks at yours
  • Their routine, next to yours

Densy assigns routines from scans, so a difference between your routine and theirs is not a choice either of you made. It is not a suggestion to switch.

Empty views, and why

What you seeWhy
No matches yetNobody with a comparable profile yet
No matches with scan history yetYou have matches, but none of them has scanned. This view fills in as they do
They have not scanned yetNothing to follow on their journey
They have only scanned onceOne scan is a baseline, so there is no journey yet

Common questions

Someone disappeared from my matches. Matches change as new scans come in — yours and theirs. Nobody was removed on purpose.

Can I ask to be matched with someone specific? No. Matching is automatic and anonymous by design.

Their numbers look better than mine on the same routine. Density readings are consistent within one person’s own history and are not calibrated between people, so your figure against theirs is not a like-for-like. What is comparable is the direction each of you is moving.
